A monthly subscription to Zoosk starts at $14.98 per month in the US, and £11.99 in the UK. However, Zoosk is one of the worst dating sites that I’ve ever discovered. There are more fake profiles on Zoosk than there are maggots on a decaying corpse.

I’d recommend reading our Match.com review if you are serious about finding your soul mate.

I’ll be going into a little more detail further down this post as to why Zoosk is so bad, but first of all I’ll answer the question for which you are here: How Much Does Zoosk Cost?

I’ve included both UK and USA/Canada subscription prices below:

Zoosk Monthly Membership Cost in 2017 (USA/CA)

Duration Price Per Month Total Price
6 Months $14.98 $89.98
3 Months $19.95 $59.85
1 Month $29.95 $29.95

Zoosk Monthly Membership Cost in 2017 (UK)

Duration Price Per Month Total Price
6 Months £11.99 £71.94
3 Months £15.98 £47.94
1 Month £22.74 £22.74

You would think that these would be the only costs right? Well I’m afraid Zoosk do like to complicate things a little further by trying to sell you what they call Zoosk Coins. Just what are Zoosk Coins exactly? Zoosk coins let you send other singles on the site virtual gifts and special emails to try and get their attention by using popup emails and also highlighting your profile in search. As well as buying these coins, you can also earn them for free by becoming friends with Zoosk on Facebook, recommending a friend to Zoosk, plus a few more options. Coins are entirely optional, but here are the current prices:

USA/Canada Coin Prices

$49.95 for 700 coins
$19.95 for 250 coins
$9.99 for 95 coins

UK Coin Prices

£74.94 for 1800 coins
£29.98 for 480 coins
£14.99 for 180 coins

Zoosk Free Membership Options

Like most dating sites Zoosk offers a basic free membership option. With the free option you can create an account, search through their millions of profiles, of which many are fake! Send winks and receive chat requests. But this option is pretty much useless, as if you want to contact any single that you take a fancy to, then you will need to pay. Purchasing a subscription will then allow you to message singles on the site and reply to messages received. There’s also a video chat option and a matchmaking option available when you become a fully paid member.

Zoosk Mini Review

Zoosk has been around for many years and it’s a very popular dating site. It’s feature rich, easy to use and the prices are reasonable. However, there is a big problem with Zoosk, and that’s fake profiles.

I’ve been involved in the online dating industry now for long enough to spot a scam site from a mile off. For example. My local village has around 30,000 inhabitants. Yet if I search Zoosk with a search radius of 2 miles, it returns over 100,000 members! If you do a Google image search on some of the profile photos, you’ll also find that many of them appear all over the web, this is because they have been copied from one site to another.

Then there’s the copious amounts of messages and winks that you receive as soon as you signup. If you are male then unless you look like Brad Pitt it’s unlikely that you will receive more than a couple of messages a month on a reputable site. I created a male profile and within 48 hours I’d received over 10 messages, and of course you can’t read these without paying. This is a very clear sign that something very dubious is going on and a warning to stay well away from Zoosk!

Zoosk Conclusion

Zoosk is certainly a very popular site, and also a very well designed site, the interface is one of the nicest I’ve laid eyes on. Unfortunately there are just far too many fake members and very little seems to be being done about it. For this reason I would not recommend joining this site. If you are serious about finding a relationship for the long-term, and don’t want to waste your time writing to fake members, then read our Match.com review. 1. I wish I had read your review of zoosk before I blew money on them – at least i am only out for one month of their “services”. Furthermore, from my observation, I completely agree with your assessment of zoosk.

  2. Unfortunately I have to agree with the negative comments of Zoosk; I decided to part with £22 for a month knowing I can cancel before it expires… I’ve legitimately messaged 5-6 women that appeared in my search results, so far, nothing (apart from one that was totally suggestive)… I shall keep my account till the end just in case but won’t be renewing. I hoped to be proved wrong, sadly no…..
