The new Congressional map for Washington state was released this morning, and one thing is clear – I will face some tough primary opposition in the months ahead. Of the 7 democrats who have announced for this seat, 5 of us are within the new boundaries of the 1st Congressional district.
The district includes the north suburbs of King County and the rural areas of Snohomish, Skagit, and Whatcom counties. I love the idea of representing Mount Vernon – home of the annual tulip festival!
Many of you tell me that you have been waiting for the map to come out to make a decision about giving. The map is out. Please make that contribution today.
Dec 31 is an important reporting deadline for contributions received in this last quarter. These quarterly reports are an important measurement of how well a candidate is attracting support. Donations large and small matter.
The financial support I received from friends and supporters since June has put me in the strongest financial position of any of the candidates. I need your support before December 31st to stay out in front.
I am running for Congress because we must have representatives who realize the critical situation our nation is in and are willing to roll up their sleeves and work out reasonable solutions. Solutions that give Washingtonians jobs, solutions that make progress on the economy, and solutions that put our country back on the right track.
With your help, and only with your help, I can be that person. Please give whatever you can before December 31st. Every $5 contribution increases the number of supporters we can say we have and every $2,500 contribution helps keep this campaign in the national spotlight. All of the contributions along the spectrum strengthen the campaign in their own way.
As always, please feel free to reply (the emails come straight to me) or call my cell phone at 425-445-0970 .
Working hard to represent you,
Laura
